It has been a while since I have been genuinely excited about a new food venue. I am a foodie and I try to eat well whenever I eat out, but there is a huge difference when I review a restaurant as ‘good’ (and then never return), vs ‘I can’t wait to come back here’. That’s why Nando’s is the first place in a very long time to get 9 out of 10. Yeah, I really can’t wait to come back: awesome food stuff is happening here.
Nando’s is one of the iconic meal destinations for every foodie. If you love chicken as much as I do, you will absolutely love Nando’s new Spiced Cashew Nut Espetada – Flame-grilled, PERi-PERi chicken thighs, stuffed with spiced cashew nut and couscous filling, layered with zucchini ribbons and red onion. I ended up visiting them with my cousin a day before my final exams as I was pretty intrigued by their delicious photos on Instagram and Facebook.
What’s it like inside?
It’s neither very big nor very small place – I’d guess there’s seating for about 50-80 people. The decor is beautiful – it has a comfy vibe and feels bright and beautiful. After taking our seats in this beautiful setting we couldn’t wait to get started.
What’s on the menu?
For my first visit, I had the Spiced Cashew Nut Espetada. It really caught my attention on the menu and it looked so beautiful. The taste of the food lives up to its appearance. This is a hefty serving for the price 1200 PKR and I felt stuffed by the end. I loved the flame grilled chicken thighs covered in the spices and sauces which cut through the richness of spiced cashew nut and couscous filling layered with zucchini ribbons and red onion.
Where can I find them?
The tongue tantalizing story of succulent grilled chicken in lemon and herb or PERi~PERi has become the hottest story in Pakistan. With 3 restaurants in Karachi 2 in Lahore and 1 in Islamabad. Nando’s has taken the country by storm since its arrival in 2001. This specialty flame grilled chicken restaurant has people addicted to the taste of PERi~PERi and craving for more.
Note: Nando’s Pakistan invited me to their M.M.Alam branch – courtesy Soha Naveed. A free meal was served to all bloggers and it tasted even better with Arsalan Hassan performing live at the event. Nando’s sent a beautiful invitation wrapped in a basket full of love and we left the event with a beautiful goodies bag.
