A CLOSE UP OF THE HAKEEM SAEED AWARDS CEREMONY BY HAMDARD PAKISTAN

Designed to recognize and appreciate the services of notables who’re contributing to our community, Hamdard Pakistan strives to seek out the best in the society and to encourage new emerging talent to thrive along the way. Celebrating more than 100 years of service and glory,  Hakim Saeed Awards were given to the gifted community and to acknowledge the incredible efforts.

Once everyone had arrived, caught up with old friends and met a few new ones it was time for us all to take our seats for the ceremony which was held at Mohatta Palace, Karachi. The choice for venue couldn’t have been better. Talat Hussain, the host of the ceremony, won the audience over with his own unique charm.

As always there was raucous applause when the awards were given out and many winners were overcome with emotion upon hearing that all of their hard work in the past year had earned them this honor. Highlights of this year’s awards included Dr. Abdul Bari, Sister Ruth Lewis, Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman, Dr. Adeeb Rizvi, Amjad Islam Amjad and Anwar Maqsood taking home their award ever for art, literature and visionary social change makers respectively. Sarfraz Ahmad’s award for sports was collected by Chishti Mujahid and Aitizaz Ahsan’s award for bravery was collected by his father.

After the ceremony drew to a close, a beautiful and soulful Qawali “Ishq Pakistan” was live performed and Hamdard Pakistan’s new logo was also unveiled.

The evening finished with dinner, fireworks and more celebrations before it was time to head home but not before everyone got their hands on the Hamdard goody bags.

Social media had been abuzz with excited comments, pictures and videos before the event and we, the bloggers, were equally excited for the action to begin on the big night itself. We live tweeted the whole event with #HakimSaeedAwards on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
